It was another day of snow driving to church. it was nice to meet folks we had not met the Sunday before. It was encouraging to witness a young couple joining the church, and the young man being baptized as well. The elders thought his being baptized again would be good since his first baptism was when he was ten years old by his buddies. The pastor and his wife had us over for dinner and we enjoyed their fellowship and food in the afternoon. It was beautiful to see the snow on the birch trees in their back yard. It is wonderful to see the hospitality and friendliness of the folks at the church. We have also received a Thanksgiving invitation which we are glad for!
On the way home from church the police had shut down the highway due to a truck that flipped over in the snowy conditions and fire crews were seeking to extricate the trapped people inside. How wonderful the Lord continues to preserve us each day that we live, and also it was good to be reminded of the folks who respond and help to people in need and in crisis. “Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me… where can i go from your Spirit?”… Psalm 139.
We enjoyed going for an evening walk around the block in the falling snow!
